Job Title: Cellar Door Manager
Cellar Door Manager
- Assist in the preparation of performance targets and be responsible for achieving those targets
- Responsible for the orderly operation of the cash register, maintenance of daily cash reports and weekly banking
- Responsible for the maintenance of cellar door stock records
- Responsible for the cleanliness and presentation of the premises at all times including bathrooms etc.
- To ensure the operation of the premises runs in accordance with the stipulations of permits, regulations and licenses.
- Interact with other cellar door managers in the area to maintain relationships and build business opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationships with local tour operators and hospitality and accommodation venues to create business opportunities
DUTIES
- To keep sales and tastings records up to date.
- To train staff in the role and responsibilities of wine tastings…coffee training, front of house roles and taking orders.
- To ensure staff are up to date with Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.
- Roster staff according to business requirements
- To ensure till, tasting notes and pricelists are up to date with the correct prices and products.
- To report inconsistencies and problems to management.
- Checking integrity of the tasting wine,
- Ensure patrons are hosted in a friendly and helpful manner,
- To keep track of stock used for tasting and for consumption on the premises,
- Ordering of front of house stock consumables
- Maintenance of an equitable and fair workplace in the cellar door
- Closing the till at the end of the day and summation of the daily sales
- Making sure premises is packed down properly at the end of day and end of week
- Development of the mailing list and building the potential customer base.
- External communication about the business
DIRECT SALES
- Responsible for the administration of direct sales through mail order, internet, The Medhurst Cellar Club, Medhurst customer database and mailing list
- Responsible for the development of local wholesale business
- Responsible for direct communication with Medhurst customers and development of appropriate material
- Responsible for the development of direct marketing via social media including Twitter and Facebook
DUTIES
- Create seasonal Medhurst newsletters, Cellar Club newsletters and other direct communication as required.
