Locale, the on-site restaurant, reflects the family’s northern Italian roots — think house-made pasta, risotto, and seasonal dishes matched to estate wines, all enjoyed with vineyard views. This is an excellent stop for a relaxed long lunch.

A boutique, family-owned estate perched high on Daniel’s Hill, with one of the most spectacular outlooks in the Yarra Valley. The cathedral-ceilinged cellar door and multi-level deck command sweeping views across vineyards, the Yarra Valley, and the distant ranges.
Taste cool-climate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Tempranillo, then settle in with a glass of wine and a grazing board by the fire or out on the deck. For a romantic stay, the two “tower” suites above the cellar door offer unique, sky-facing accommodation.

For serious wine enthusiasts, Luke Lambert offers a very different style of Yarra Valley experience. All wines are single-vineyard, hand-picked, wild-yeast fermented and bottled without fining or filtration, with fruit sourced from the famed Denton View Hill vineyard near Yarra Glen. Large French and Slavonian oak foudres are used for maturation, and Nebbiolo from the “Sparkletown” vineyard in Glenburn adds a distinctly Italian accent.
This is a minimal-intervention, terroir-driven producer best suited to visitors keen on thoughtful, quietly precise wines. Bookings are essential and subject to availability.

On your way back through Yarra Glen, round out the day with a gin tasting at Stag Lane Distillery, home of Mary Monica Gin. Set on a regenerative citrus farm with expansive valley views, the distillery and café offer paddock-to-bottle gins made from botanicals grown on-site — think finger limes, yuzu, juniper and native aromatics.
It’s an ideal final stop for those who enjoy spirits as much as wine, and a great place to grab a relaxed snack or coffee before heading home.
