The Balgownie wine making legacy first began in 1969 with the planting of the first 5 acres of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in Bendigo. Our Yarra Valley vineyards were established in 2003.

Balgownie Estate is a 5-star Halliday-rated Winery. Yarra Valley features a state-of-the-art Cellar Door, deck, and Restaurant 1309 (open 7-days).

The property is home to 17 acres of vineyards (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), plus contemporary guest room and suite accommodation, and endota spa.

Winemaker Tony Winspear has been nurturing the Estate’s grapevines from bud to bottle since 1994, a hands-on winemaker, and very much at home in the cellar using traditional low intervention techniques.
