Natillie “Tillie J” Johnston

A Yarra Valley viticulturist and winemaker, and a four-time Top 50 Young Gun of Wine recipient who took out the People’s Choice Award in 2023. She fell into wine while funding a Sports Science degree with cellar door work, completing her first harvest at Coldstream Hills in 2012. Postgraduate study followed, along with vintages across Australia and abroad — from Yarra Yering and Leeuwin Estate to wineries in Oregon, Germany and Marlborough. In 2019 she launched Tillie J Wines through No.7 Healesville’s Young Winemakers program, debuting a Pinot Noir rated 95 in the Wine Companion. She makes wines built to reflect their place.
