Wedgetail is a family-run winery in the Nillumbik Hills on the western edge of the Yarra Valley.

The estate’s eight-acre vineyard was planted in 1994, and its elevated, cool-climate setting is particularly suited to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. All fruit is grown on the estate and worked by hand, from pruning through to picking. The winemaking is deliberately low-intervention, allowing each vintage to express its place and season.

The cellar door sits within Wedgetail’s hand-built rammed-earth winery, with thick walls, recycled timber and an underground barrel room giving the space real character. Tastings are personally hosted by owners Adam and Jacky, a chance to talk wine, ask questions and hear the stories behind what’s in the glass. Settle in by the fireplace, linger over a glass and enjoy the slower pace of Nillumbik wine country.
